Youth charity The Prince’s Trust has embarked on a digital transformation to enable them to better serve the thousands of young people who come to the charity every year.
London, UK, 9 November 2015
The Prince’s Trust has today launched a new website. But it’s more than just a new website. It is the window into a total digital transformation of the organisation.
The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity working with vulnerable 13-30 year olds who are unemployed or at risk of exclusion from education. This year, the charity will help 59,000 disadvantaged young people get their lives back on track. In order to help even more young people each year, The Trust needed to transform its operation.
Project Insight was instated to enhance outdated business processes and improve the customer experience for the young people contacting The Prince’s Trust. “We wanted to ensure that young people receive the best quality at every stage of their journey with us, regardless of the device or channel used to get in touch,” said Martina Milburn CBE, CEO at The Prince’s Trust. “We will also be able to deliver better support to our staff, volunteers and partners.”
The digital business platform, powered by Oracle digital technology and implemented by Infomentum, will allow The Prince’s Trust to improve efficiencies in key areas of the charity. For example, today’s launch sees a new responsive website featuring searchable content on upcoming courses. Previously, this information was only delivered face-to-face. This is running alongside a fresh CRM, which, combined with a new business intelligence system, will show a single and complete view of each young person’s journey. This helps to produce better outcomes for the young people, ensuring that the charity can track and assist them throughout their journey. It also means better, more-informed decision making for The Prince’s Trust.
Infomentum worked with The Trust to understand their vision to “use technology as an enabler to effectively and efficiently help The Prince’s Trust change young people’s lives for the better”, mapping the ideal technology to meet these needs. The key to meeting the vision was integrating Oracle Service Cloud (CRM), website and Business Intelligence to work in harmony as a digital platform.
Commenting on the implementation, Dan Shepherd, Partner & Chief Operations Officer at Infomentum, said “using our unique agile delivery process, we were producing a piece of software every 2 weeks. This allowed room for requirements to change as the needs of the charity evolved over the duration of the project. Our established continuous integration and test automation processes were key to ensuring the required levels of agility for the project were met.”
Martina concluded: “Infomentum understood our journey and what we wanted to achieve. They were able to successfully deliver technology to meet our business needs and the quality of their service was outstanding. Without question, Infomentum has helped The Prince’s Trust change the lives of even more young people.”
Vikram Setia, Partner & Chief Commercial Officer at Infomentum was part of the process from the beginning. He said “it’s really an honour to work with a charity like The Prince’s Trust who do so much to help young people to change their lives. This first phase is a huge step forward to realising The Prince’s Trust vision and we look forward to continuing to help the charity take advantage of the ever-changing digital landscape.”

About The Prince’s Trust
Youth charity The Prince’s Trust helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track. It supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Prince’s Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law. The Trust’s programmes give vulnerable young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, helping develop self-esteem and skills for work. Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. The Prince of Wales’s charity has helped 825,000 young people since 1976 and supports over 100 more each day.
